Christine Lumm, Finance and Business Manager

(Since March 2007)

  • Duties: Manages finances and business operations for University Communications, Government and Community Relations, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for University Relations
  • Other UC Davis posts: Served for two years as the business officer for the Cal Aggie Alumni Association/Office of Alumni Relations
  • Background: Worked in various capacities at the San Jose State University Library for nine years (including as the purchasing and facilities coordinator, 1998–2002) and helped plan and create a university-city library in San Jose, the Martin Luther King Jr. Library; human-resource specialist for Walgreens Distribution Center in Woodland, 2003–04
  • Education: Studied kinesiology at San Jose State University, with a concentration in athletic training

Heidi Bertero, Business Assistant

  • Duties: Assists the finance and business manager in financial matters, including purchasing, payroll and travel; serves as front-desk receptionist; supervises student office interns; and supports business operations for a 28-member staff
  • Background: A decade of service with FamiliesFirst Inc., including two years as assistant to the government relations director and five years providing accounts payable and accounts receivable support; owns and manages a contemporary jewelry business, “Creations by Heidi”
  • Education: B.A. in Secretarial Science, Heald College

Angie Malloy, Database Manager

  • Duties: Database manager for University Communications, working to make news-related information accessible to staff and UC Davis Web visitors.
  • Other UC Davis posts: Since 1989 in University Communications, at different times, responsible for news production, distribution and Web posting; executive support; circulation of department publications; development of department databases; working with our programmer to develop first searchable news site; personnel and payroll processing; interim finance and business management; and software and process training
  • Background: Four years administering benefits and risk management, with additional experience in personnel hiring and training, event coordination and retail management, at the Nut Tree in Vacaville
  • Education: Two years of general education at American River College

  • Duties: Assists the assistant vice chancellor and other University Communication managers in administrative matters

  • Background: A decade in fundraising for Bay Area nonprofits, including two years at Suicide Prevention of Yolo County and four years at the Contra Costa Association for Retarded Citizens; manages a small arts company, Pesky Arts, which she founded in 2002
  • Education: B.A. in English and B.A. in Psychology, University of California, Davis
