University Communications

Publications: Frequently asked questions

Why work with the Publications Office?

  • Under campus policy, Publications is responsible for the use of UC Davis logos, seal and other trademarks in Web and print publications.
  • We set publishing standards for UC Davis (see links below) that strengthen the campus visual identity and help build consistent, powerful communications that support our land-grant mission of learning, discovery and engagement.

How can Publications help me?

  • By following those standards for your own publications, you'll develop consistent, effective communications for your unit that are well integrated into the campus's marketing communication program, and that benefit from and add to the prestige and credibility off the institution.
  • We provide publishing resources including logos and other trademarks, official campus colors and fonts, Web templates, and campus "stock" photography to help you produce successful, UC Davis-branded publications.
  • We offer training for campus communicators through Staff Development and Professional Services.
  • We can help you find freelance design, photography, writing or editorial help for publications.
