Who We Are
The staff in University Communications is dedicated to providing up-to-date news and high-quality communications for the UC Davis campus and external audiences. A major focus of our office is strategic communications planning. Learn more about us and how we can help you.
Our leadership
Our department is led by a team of communications managers headed by Assistant Vice Chancellor Lisa Lapin. The management team has integrated strengths in media relations, design, marketing and business.
News Service
We are the centralized office responsible for delivering UC Davis news, except in the areas of medical sciences and sports, for both campus and external audiences. We publish Dateline UC Davis, the faculty and staff newspaper; the campus home page; and Aggie Family Pack, a newsletter and Web site for parents.
Publications
Our unit provides design consultation and leadership for the campus, while also producing key external print and electronic publications. The campus's flagship alumni publication, UC Davis Magazine, is produced in our unit, as well as the Annual Report and other strategic marketing publications and presentations.
Marketing
The marketing unit develops and implements research-based strategies for communications and marketing at UC Davis. Its functions include integrated marketing planning, message development, branding, development communications and market research. Marketing also consults with campus constituents and provides comprehensive support for major campus initiatives.
Broadcast
We produce "NewsWatch" news segments about UC Davis that air on KVIE Public Television, UCTV and the Web. Our unit also produces feature-length programs and documentaries that showcase university teaching and research programs.
Web
We design and develop Web sites and other electronic communications that promote university programs and services. These sites include the campus home pages, the News & Information site, and other electronic projects geared toward important internal and external audiences.
Administration
Our unit provides administrative support to University Communications.

From Interstate 80, take the UC Davis exit and head north on New Davis Road. After passing an information kiosk in the center divide, continue past the parking facility on the south. At the first stoplight, turn left at Mondavi Performing Arts Center. Drive to the stop sign. Continue north. Mrak Hall is directly at the top of the circular drive. Park at any of the metered spaces or in Parking Lot #3 between Mrak Hall and King Hall to the south.
Reporters can park ticket-free on campus in any non-restricted parking lot , Diamond "E" and vendor spaces, and at meters. If your vehicle is not marked with a station or publication logo, place a media business card on the dashboard.
